We had a fantastic time at the Warner Brothers studios in London. What a dangerously delicious way to launch our topic on Potions. From the fabulous Great Hall with it's dazzling decor and scrumptious feast to the prop making and iconic Harry Potter tributes. We had  such a magical experience.

 

 

 

 

Thank you to Mrs Wilson , who came to school to tell us about her work in the Studios. Her first hand knowledge really helped us to understand the vast number of job roles involved in film making. 
 

 

Ioan's mum who is a teacher in the Comprehensive helped us to make potions with sodium bicarbonate and food colouring . Our cauldron's certainly were overflowing.

 

 

Our first Science investigation was about  evaporation and how important fair testing is. We learnt how to change variables and represented our data which we took over 7 days in a line graph.

 

Experiment 2 - testing for solubility.

We had a selection of materials to classify and test.

 

 

We had a magical experience in the Forest designing broomsticks for our Macbeth scripts. We also used them to create descriptive writing , using our 5 senses , as we flew over Hogwarts.

 

At the Warner Brother's Studio we met a school from Finland who entrusted their cuddly toy to us called Jazz. Jazz is travelling around the world. She has had many adventures here with us at Penclawdd Primary (see some of her adventures below).

After half term Jazz is going to a school in England and we wish her all the very best on her travels.
