School Uniform

When children are in school they are part of a community and by wearing a simple school uniform we hope to promote a feeling of equality, partnership and belonging.

School uniform

We also ask parents to provide pupils with waterproof clothing for Forest School activities. We obviously encourage sensible footwear.

Please ensure that articles of clothing are marked or labelled with your child’s name – too much ends up unclaimed in lost property.  When there is a name we will be able to get the clothes back to the child.

Pupils in Year 6 wear a red leavers hoodie - these can be purchased by clicking here.

Labels for School Uniform

We encourage parents/carers to label their child's uniform.  This makes our life at lot easier.  We recommend that parents/carers visit Stikins as they produce multi purpose labels that can simply stick and stay in place. No sewing or ironing required.  By using this service and quoting School Fundraising Number : 15618 you will also be supporting our school.

School uniform grant

The grant is available for children who are currently entitled to free school meals. Pupils who receive free school meals due to transitional protection arrangements do not qualify for this funding.

This grant applies to the following year groups:

  • Reception to Year 11.
  • Looked After Children (LAC), who attend a Swansea school.
  • Those who are classed as No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF).

The Pupil Development Grant Access scheme will be raised for one year only by £100 per learner eligible for free school meals.

Funding available is £225 for each eligible learner with the exception of those in Year 7, who will be entitled to £300.

The grant should be spent on:

  • School uniform including coats and shoes;
  • School sports kits including footwear;
  • IT equipment: laptop and tablets ONLY (PDG Access should only be used in a limited situation, where a school is unable to loan equipment to the family);

Penclawdd Primary Uniform Swop Shop

The Swop Shop is  intended to help families, by providing free uniforms, PE kits, shoes, forest school clothes and anything else that may be needed for school.

Absolutely anyone is welcome to use and donate preloved clothing.  Please help us to continue to help as many families as possible.  Why throw your uniform away if it is in a good condition?

Uniforms can be expensive, family circumstances can change and sometimes keeping your children clean and warm can be more difficult than you'd ever imagined.

People have been extremely generous, and enabled us  to help families access uniform they need - some families would have not been able to provide their children with warm winter coats, shoes or even cardigans and jumpers without the community's help.

Please fill in the form below if we can help...
