North Gower Partnership

The North Gower Partnership is an effective and long standing collaboration between the feeder schools to Gowerton Comprehensive School.

Our parnership consists of the following schools:- 

  • Gowerton School
  • Gowerton Primary School
  • Llanrhidian Primary School
  • Penclawdd Primary School
  • Pen y Fro Primary School
  • Waunarlwydd Primary School

Our effective collaboration is focused on providing all our pupils with the very best opportunities for life long learning through an authentic curriculum that meets the needs and interests of all learners.  

We have many strengths as a cluster.  These include:- 

  • Consistency of principle across all schools
  • A shared moral responsibility for all stakeholders 
  • Open and honest discussions between all staff
  • High levels of challenge in a culture of low threat
  • A wide range of expertise across the schools

Recent initiatives have included:-

  • Developing a cluster branding for the new Curriculum for Wales
  • Developing staff knowledge of effective pedagogy
  • Shared self evaluation through learning walks, book looks and pupil voice 
  • Developing effective cross curricular planning through years 5678
  • Developing a cluster approach to health and well-being, including a “Mentally Healthy Schools Model” and a unified approach to Relationships and Sexuality Education. 
  • A unified and proactive approach to digital competence
  • Shared exhibitions of pupils’ work
  • Bi-Annual Concert at the Brangwyn Hall
  • Annual transition events
  • Annual shared staff training
