We celebrated World Mental Health Day.  We learnt about the five ways to well-being - keep learning, be active, give, connect, take notice.  We enjoyed created games for our buddies to help keep them active.

This year , the year 6 children have buddies in reception.  Our job is to make them feel welcome and to ensure they are happy.  We help them enjoy being in school all day and are their playground buddies during play time.

Our football team went to a football festival and Mr Miller was very impressed with the attitude and skill of all our team members - Da iawn i chi!  You were a credit to Penclawdd!

We enjoyed looking at icebergs.  Our favourite part was when we added salt to the iceberg - we noticed that the iceberg began to melt quickly and crack.

We had a visit from artist 'Sarah Hopkins' who taught us about screen printing and Inuit art.  We printed bags to sell to our friends and family.  If you'd like to purchase a bag, please contact the office.  All bags £5 - bargain!

We began our topic with a trip to the ice rink! Ces i amser hwyl!

Summer term 2022

Borfa- Day 2

We started the day with a delicious breakfast. We had a choice of cereal, cooked breakfast, toast and yogurts.

After breakfast, we the instructors told us what we needed for the day. We packed up our equipment and headed off.

After a short walk, we arrived by the cliff side. We split into two groups. One group started rock climbing, the other group did some coastal caving.

Both activities were great fun!

Tonight we had curry for food. It was delicious! We’re about to get ready to go on an evening walk.

Borfa- Day 1

We arrived at Borfa and put all our bags inside.

After this, we went for a walk to see the lifeboat and read about the history of it. Next, we visited the graveyard and searched for the oldest graves. We also found out about the lifeboat men who lost try wit lives.

We returned to the centre and had our lunch. We got to see our rooms and we went through the rules.

After this we gathered our equipment and set off on a coastal adventure. We visited the salt house and searched for a secret tunnel. Next, we had to climb a gigantic  hill to the top of the cliff. We then climbed down and saw Culver Hole where they used to hide the treasure.

After this evening’s meal, we went to the beach and played like song fun games.

We’re now having snacks and we’re about to watch a film. Nos da pawb.
