Rights of the child : June 2024 - Article 6 - Right to life and to be healthy
Well, our choir was magnificent at Primary Partners and our performance was WOW! The ABBA medley was show stopping and we certainly sparkled. I`d like to thank Mrs.Davies and Ms.Hopkins for all their hard work - it really paid off. And of course thanks to our wonderful children for their commitment and our parents for you support. Our sports day was fabulous. The sun was shining and the children from N-Y6 were excellent. It was lovely to see so many parents/carers and have such lovely feedback. I am sure you will agree with me, the staff were such great sports and their race was hilarious !! Our sports day was fabulous.

NEWS from Swansea Council re Year 6 free school meals
Further to previous correspondence, we are pleased to announce we will be rolling out free school meals to all year 6 pupils from 2 September 2024 (after summer holidays). Please note this will be automatic and there will be no requirement to apply for the meals. This completes the roll out of universal free school meals to all year groups in primary schools
Roz and Kirsty Class Photos
This will take place on 26th June. Children will need to wear their school uniform. The class photo is very popular as many children and parents treasure this as they fondly remember what their class looked like.

School Essential Grant
All information on the SEG can be found on the Swansea Council Website: School Essentials Grant (formerly school uniform grant - PDG access) - Swansea.
The grant applications will run from 01 July 2024 to 31 May 2025.
To clarify, children (with the exception of LAC), must be in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) in order to qualify. This does not include the children on universal FSM or Transitionally Protected FSM. Parents of children on universal FSM will need to apply for FSM in order to qualify.

Holidays during term time
We are seeing an increasing amount of parents / carers take holidays during term time. This is becoming a trend which is affecting our attendance figures but ultimately affects your child's learning. Please think very carefully before booking a holiday during term time. See image below.
Holiday Club
Child's play are running a holiday club for children who attend our school but this will be held in Crwys Primary School. If you are interested in booking a session please see the above link to complete a booking form.

Nursery Open Day - save the date !
After the success of our last open day, we have one more planned this term. You and your child will have the opportunity to see our large and spacious Nursery provision and our wonderful outdoor areas.
Please come along on Thursday June 27th at 1.30pm to meet our wonderful Nursery staff and also our super childcare staff who offer FREE Flying Start for 2yr olds (for Penclawdd post codes) , Nursery wraparound and after school care.

Our youngest learners made 2 courses - pitta pizza and biscuits . It was a great opportunity to practise our bilingual skills as well.
Penclawdd Euros are underway!

Rhythm and Rhyme for Summer term
Our last session is next Thursday 27th June 10.15am - 11.15am for anyone who wishes to join. Ms Smith will be restarting in September.
