☀️We have had a very busy week in which we had two Sharing the Learning events, Athletics, plus our Summer Fayre.☀️

The fayre was very well attended. Many thanks to everyone who supported us and of course to “The Friends of Penclawdd”  who organised the event. The children really enjoyed and were very excited. 

The Friends of Penclawdd have organised a Bingo Night - please see the poster.

🦁🦒Nursery community visit to Folly Farm🦓🦚

Today our Nursery class plus their families are visiting Folly Farm. We can't wait to hear about it later today.  We have received a few photographs of their visit.  We hope they have a wonderful day. 

More Sharing the Learning Events

Y3/4 - Tuesday 9th July - Mr Miller will be showcasing his Roman Army Display. They had a wonderful local visit this week to reenact life as Roman solider - see here 

Rec/Y1 & Y1/2 - Pop up shop

Wednesday 10th July - Mrs. Davies and Mrs. Rees will  be selling Beach themed art from items collected when they visited Port Eynon. There will also be some treats on sale too.

🤖 Technocamps🤖 Inspiring the next generation of computer scientists through STEM

Weare very proud of the children that took part in Technocamps Robotics Competition. The children used skills to problem solve and showed resilience. Well done to Vega, Liam, Jordan, Rose and Jack who also showed very good presentation skills.

School Reports

School reports will be emailed to parents/carers on 11th July 2024 at 1pm. Parents will also have a copy of their child's attendance certificate from September 2023 to June 2024.

Transition for Year 6 plus class moves from N-Y5 

Next week will be transition for Year 6 as they attend Gowerton, but also for the remaining year groups at school. 
Exciting times for our N-Y5 learners as they meet new teachers and have a taster of what they will learn next year.  Your child’s class for September will be shared via the new class seesaw 

🎽County Athletics Championship 🎽

🌟Huge congratulations to Gethin and Sienna who represented our school at the area athletics final. Gethin came away with a PB in his long jump - amazing technique on show and SW who smashed the 800m and came away with a bronze medal. 🌟

🎅🏼Our annual trip to Bath will take place on Saturday 30th November, leaving school at 8am and leaving Bath at 5pm. The cost is £25.  Please see Mrs. Beynon to book your seat.

NEWS from Swansea Council  re Year 6 free school meals

Further to previous correspondence, we are pleased to announce we will be rolling out free school meals to all year 6 pupils from 2 September 2024 (after summer holidays). Please note this will be automatic and there will be no requirement to apply for the meals. This completes the roll out of universal free school meals to all year groups in primary schools

School Essential Grant

All information on the SEG can be found on the Swansea Council Website: School Essentials Grant (formerly school uniform grant - PDG access) - Swansea.

The grant applications will run from 01 July 2024 to 31 May 2025.

To clarify, children (with the exception of LAC), must be in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM) in order to qualify.  This does not include the children on universal FSM or Transitionally Protected FSM.  Parents of children on universal FSM will need to apply for FSM in order to qualify.

Holiday Club

Child's play are running a holiday club for children who attend our school but this will be held in Crwys Primary School. If you are interested in booking a session please see the above link to complete a booking form.
