Rights of the child : July 2024 - Article 31 - Right to relax and play

This week was transition and class swap week. Our Year 6’s  embarked on their transition week to Gowerton. This is such an important step in their educational journey, and we believe they are well-prepared to embrace the new experiences and challenges ahead. We are proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing them thrive in Y7.

🎉Today the Y6’s are off on their fun day celebrations. This has been meticulously planned by Mrs. Percival to ensure they have have the best time. Thanks to Mrs Percival , Ms Smith and all the staff who will be in school this evening until gone 9pm ! 🎉

🎓🐧Penguins graduation 🐧🎓

Mrs Thomas and Team Penguins 🐧 organised a wonderful celebration this week. Our youngest learners were spectacular. There wasn’t a dry eye in the hall as we celebrated and  wished them all well , as now become full-time in September. Thanks to Mrs Thomas and Team 🐧 for making this such a special day.

School Reports

School reports were emailed to parents/carers on 11th July 2024 from 1pm and you will have received a copy of your child's attendance from September 2023 to June 2024. We have sent a form via seesaw for you to complete. The staff would welcome your feedback. 

Year 2 Swimming

Y2 swimming was a huge success, the children really enjoy and gained confidence within a few weeks. We will continue with swimming next year and hope to include our new Year 2 class again.

🎅🏼Our annual trip to Bath will take place on Saturday 30th November, leaving school at 8am and leaving Bath at 5pm. Please see poster below. The cost is £25.  Please see Mrs. Beynon to book your seat.

🏏Free cricket skills sessions🏏

Gowerton Cricket Club will be putting on free cricket skills sessions for 5 to 11 year olds at the cricket club during the summer holiday.

The sessions will take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on the weeks beginning Tuesday 23rd, 30th July and 6th, 13th and 20th August.

The sessions will be organised between 11.00am and midday for 5 to 8 year olds. and between 12.15pm and 1.15pm for 8 to 11 year olds.

If your son/daughter would like to attend any of the sessions, please email; andrewchapman27@icloud.com  with your child's name and date of birth and the dates of the sessions that they'd like to attend. If your child is 8 years old please confirm whether or not they've played cricket previously. Those who have experienced cricket will go in the later sessions. Those who've not played previosly will go into the early session.

I’d like to say a special thanks to Mrs. Thomas who has organised and led this event. The children who participated have absolutely loved it.
