Headteacher's news 31.1.25

This term so far....

The term is in full swing and the children are working hard on their topic. This week the Flamingos and Sea Lions visited the Swansea community farm ( the only city farm in Wales) and had such a wonderful experience. Mr Miller and the Sharks visited Plantasia to learn all about predators and food chains. They have also been learning about performance poetry. Listen to their emotive performance of Sympathy by Paul Laurence Dunbar here!

We are excited to share some wonderful news and mark an important date in our calendars. On February 13th, 2025, we will be visited by an Estyn HMI (His Majesty’s Inspector) as part of a thematic review of teaching and learning across Wales. We are one of only 15 primary schools selected for this review, and we are thrilled by the opportunity. At the conclusion of the review, a report will be written covering all the schools visited. We will share this with you.

Urdd Y5/6 Cross Country at Pembrey

We are incredibly proud of these 3 pupils who competed in this race. They came home with the Team GOLD !!!

We also wish all our runners the best of luck for our NGP cluster event at the Elba this afternoon. Pob lwc!

From now until March 31st Penclawdd Primary School is one of the 3 charities you can vote for with Tesco blue tokens đŸ”ĩ

If you aren't familiar with it, every time you shop in Tesco you should be given a blue token to vote for 1 of 3 charities (voting box is usually at the exit).

If you do self-service or don't get given one, just ask!

If we get the most votes, we get £1500 for the school, 2nd place £1000 and 3rd £500.

There are 10 stores around Swansea with the school as an option. Fforestfach and Gowerton are two of them. Please see our Facebook page for more information.

Please pass the message to all friends and family. It would be amazing if the school were to receive the top prize.
