This week`s picture (above) is our Education minister looking at how we can spend the money raised from our book fair to continue to inspire our love of reading
Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome back, we hope you had a lovely half-term. We are really looking forward to the next few weeks as this 🎄Christmas half-term is magical, and we have lots of wonderful things planned.
Friends of Penclawdd are asking for donations of 🎅🏼Christmas jumpers (in good condition) to recycle at the Christmas Fayre on December 4th 2024.
Christmas shopping🎅🏼
Spending with Scholastic earns free books for us as a school to stock our library full of the best new books and resources. If you are buying books for Christmas gifts this Christmas, please consider shopping with Scholastic in their on-line shop and naming our school. We will be gifted the commission and will then be able to buy even more books for our library. Thanks to your incredible support, we have just purchased books up to the value of £420 for our school library through Scholastic. The children can't wait to receive them! Follow the link below to start shopping!

Remembrance Sunday🌺
Our wonderful choir has been asked to sing in our village on Sunday 10th November. The choir will sing for Remembrance at Penclawdd Gardens ( near the Health Centre). Their performance will be approx 11.20am. The children will join the congregation and sing 'Canon Lan' and then as a choir perform 'A Thousand Years'.
This morning our Head Boy and Head Girl , Ethan and Vega attended and proudly represented our school at Gowerton`s Remembrance service. This year commemorates the 80th Anniversary of RAF Pilot Officer, Mr Penry Guy (from Penclawdd). The Lancaster bomber of which he was pilot, was hit while over Belgium, June 21/22, 1944. He held it control for his six comrades to escape, and so lost his own life aged 22 years.
Odd Socks Day 🧦marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week.
Odd Socks Day 2024 is taking place on Tuesday 12th November. It is supported by cBeebies presenter & ABA patron Andy Day and his band 'Andy and the Odd Socks'. Check out his video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLoHRqkKi18
Odd Socks Day provides an opportunity for schools to have fun, be yourself, and spread awareness of the core values Anti-Bullying Week promotes. We will spend time during the week thinking about how bullying affects us, what to do if you're worried about bullying and why it's important that we are all unique. Please help us to support Odd Sock Day by wearing Odd Socks on Tuesday to school. Many thanks.
